Responsibilities/Duties
System Maintenance
- Lead the maintenance and analysis of complex firefighting and dewatering systems, incorporating energy-efficient solutions.
- Ensure firefighting and dewatering systems are maintained according to established schedules and industry standards.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance strategies to reduce system failure risks and ensure reliability.
- Oversee staffing and operational activities for maintenance and repair shifts.
- Manage maintenance providers' teams and audit maintenance activities to ensure compliance with standards.
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical management for the maintenance of firefighting and dewatering systems, including troubleshooting.
- Update SOPs and checklists based on asset conditions.
- Oversee routine inspections and maintenance tasks on firefighting and dewatering systems, ensuring compliance with KPIs, MTTR, and MTBF.
- Monitor inventory of materials, equipment, and parts consumption.
- Guide electrical technicians in troubleshooting complex issues and resolving problems.
- Manage asset handovers with clients and warranty service providers.
- Develop overhauling plans for assets in accordance with standards.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues and devise effective solutions.
- Standardize asset performance through predictive maintenance tools.
Technical Analysis
- Conduct performance analysis and simulations to optimize system efficiency and functionality.
- Respond to failures by diagnosing root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Contribute to the development and compliance of the maintenance budget.
- Perform regular asset condition assessments to identify maintenance needs.
Team Management
- Supervise maintenance teams, and service providers, and collaborate with other engineering disciplines.
- Oversee client service provider activities to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design reports, specifications, and user manuals.
- Track maintenance logs, equipment failures, and corrective actions to ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Follow up on spare parts strategy, managing consumption and requirements for parts.
Emergency Response
- Respond promptly to service calls for firefighting systems that are malfunctioning or out of service.
- Establish safe operational processes for handling malfunctions.
Inspection and Compliance
- Perform regular inspections of equipment to assess condition and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Test operational systems and emergency features to verify functionality and safety.
Customer Communication
- Communicate maintenance service updates to clients and relevant stakeholders.
- Provide guidance to clients and users on proper asset use and care.
Collaboration
- Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, and policies.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with technicians, engineers, contractors, and safety inspectors.
- Collaborate with safety inspectors and regulatory authorities during audits and assessments.
- Liaise with clients and service providers to ensure project requirements are met.
Training and Development
- Conduct training sessions for junior engineers and technicians on best practices and emerging technologies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulations relevant to system maintenance.
Quality Assurance
- Implement quality control measures to ensure all maintenance work adheres to company standards and industry regulations.
- Continuously evaluate and improve maintenance techniques to enhance service quality.
Safety
- Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and meet industry standards.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure equipment safety and mitigate risks during maintenance activities.
- Perform regular safety checks on assets and systems.
- Conduct safety audits and support incident investigations to improve safety standards.
Maximo
- Use Maximo, to track maintenance activities and asset conditions.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance in the CMMS system.
Other Duties
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
- Be available to work after hours when required.
Essential Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
Knowledge
- Strong general technical knowledge, particularly in system maintenance.
- Team management skills and experience.
- Familiarity with CMMS/BMS systems (Maximo preferred).
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in English (fluent in speaking, reading) and Arabic.
Experience
- From of 5-7 years of experience in a maintenance environment and project management.
- Experience in change management and continuous improvement of maintenance methods and quality.
- Familiarity with CMMS/BMS systems (Maximo preferred).
