Sr. Medical Billing Specialist

As a Sr. Medical Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for supervising and guiding the billing team to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely claim processing. You will collaborate with management and clients to maintain high performance standards, streamline operations, and ensure client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of medical billing specialists to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Oversee the complete billing cycle; charge entry, claim submission, payment posting, AR follow-up, and denial resolution.
• Monitor and analyze team performance against KPIs and SLAs.
• Identify process gaps and implement workflow improvements to enhance productivity and accuracy.
• Provide regular performance feedback, coaching, and training to team members.
• Communicate effectively with clients, payers, and internal teams to resolve billing and reimbursement issues.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, payer-specific regulations, and company policies.
• Prepare and present operational and performance reports to management.
• Support onboarding and skill development of new billing staff.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5+ years of proven experience in medical billing, RCM, or healthcare accounts management.
• At least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of US healthcare billing systems, EOBs, CPT/ICD codes, claim workflows, and payer rules.
• Proficiency in medical billing software such as Kareo, AdvancedMD, DrChrono, or Athena.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
