Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr Principal Software Engineer for GCCS-J development team.

This position 100% onsite Newport News, VA,

GCCS-J is the Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Command and Control (C2) system of record. GCCS-J supports commanders and warfighters as they conduct joint and multinational operations by providing a fused picture of the battlespace within an integrated system that is supporting Joint Warfighter needs today. GCCS-J is focused on meeting emerging operational needs through sustainment and modernization.

Responsabilities:

  • Interface with multiple, geographically disbursed development teams and effectively communicate project statuses and barriers
  • Agile Development process
  • Conduct investigations, provide technical advice, recommend technical solutions, and assist the Government in integrating the GCCS-J functionality into new baselines
  • assist in crafting, testing, and recommending scalable, flexible, and resilient designs
  • ensure compliance with standards
  • Conduct design and code reviews
  • Contribute to all phases of the software engineering lifecycle (SELC)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 experience or a master’s 6 years’ experience
  • Familiar with Object-Oriented Design and Programming
  • Experience with Java
  • Experience with back-end programming languages such as (Java/Spring, Python) REST web services or other similar experience
  • Experience with any of the following: Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, web sockets, graphQL, NATS or other similar experince
  • Familiar with database types (such as SQL, NoSQL, GeoSpatial, Key/Object pair, etc.)
  • Work onsite Newport News Va
  • Active Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with various IDEs such as VSCode, Eclipse, Netbeans
  • Experience with JavaScript and Node.js
  • Experience deploying Java applications to WebLogic servers
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Helm, and Helm Charts
  • Exposure to DoD environments, Agile ceremonies, or DevSecOps workflows
  • Knowledge or experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) technologies

Primary Level Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
