Job Description – Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Oversee and manage quantity surveying activities across multiple construction projects.
- Prepare and review detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Evaluate and negotiate variations, claims, and change orders with contractors and consultants.
- Lead the preparation of interim valuations, final accounts, and project close-out documentation.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, consultants, and site teams to ensure commercial objectives are met.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, relevant regulations, and industry standards.
- Conduct value engineering and cost-benefit analysis to optimize project efficiency.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors and support staff.
- Track project progress, forecast financial outcomes, and report on commercial performance to senior management.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years of proven experience in quantity surveying, preferably in large-scale civil or infrastructure projects.
- In-depth knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC, NEC).
- Proficient in industry-standard software such as WinQS, CostX, CCS Candy, or similar.
- Strong commercial acumen and contract administration skills.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and decision-making abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and numerical capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
