General Summary:

CommScope is seeking skilled professionals for the role of Database Administrator. Please review the outlined responsibilities and qualifications. Duties & Responsibilities

• SQL Server, Azure SQL, Oracle, MySQL and SAP S/4Hana
• Should have good previous experience in administering SQL Server versions 2012 – 2022 and Always on experience and performing upgrades.
• Strong database and operating system concepts
• Should have good previous experience in administering Oracle DBs versions 11g – 19c in a high availability environment, experience in implementing DB upgrades
• Participate in client/project meeting(s) for needs assessment and design review
• Analyze the needs and requirements of users of existing and proposed database systems and develops technical, structural and organizational specifications to include access methods, access time, job control language, statistical methodologies, device allocation, validation checks, protection, and security
• Design, develop, implement and maintain a database for internal and external users/clients
• Create, document, and implement standards and/or modeling to monitor and enhance the capacity and performance of the database
• Program and write codes as necessary
• Develop data import and export routines to automate data loading
• Build windows, screens, and reports
• Knowledge on PowerShell & Unix shell scripting
• Good to have knowledge on SAP MaxDB & PostgreSQL databases
• Good to have knowledge on Azure and/or AWS Clouds and
• Track and resolve database related incidents and requests, and escalate as necessary
• Apply regular and proactive database patches, updates, and performance enhancements
• Provide technical support for development activities
• Adhere and improve “ITIL process and best practices” documentation
• Knowledge on DB Servers monitoring tools

Qualifications for SQL Server or Oracle DBA

• SQL Server Certified Associate/Professional or Oracle certification such as Administrator Certified Associate/Professional
• Must have experience installing, administrating, and upgrading SQL Server 2012 – 2019 and/or Oracle 11g, 12c and 19c
• Bachelors/Masters Degree or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 6 years of experience
• Minimum 5 years experience as SQL Server and/or Oracle DBA in a production environment
• 5 to 7 years experience as an SQL Server and/or Oracle DBA in a production environment
