Your Opportunity to Support Elliott’s Financial Operations

Elliott Equipment Company is looking for a detail-oriented and process-driven Staff Accountant to support our financial operations and help maintain strong accounting fundamentals as we continue to grow. This role plays an important part in ensuring the accuracy of our trial balance, maintaining integrity across the general ledger, and supporting consistent accounting processes across the organization.

You will work closely with members of the finance team, operations, and other departments to ensure our financial records accurately reflect the performance and complexity of our manufacturing business. This is a hands-on role ideal for an accounting professional who values precision, enjoys learning how systems and processes work, and takes pride in producing reliable financial information.

What You’ll Do:

General Ledger & Transaction Processing

  • Post daily inventory transactions and ensure accurate cost flow through the ERP system
  • Process parts sales invoices and maintain accurate revenue recording
  • Record and reconcile daily bank transactions to ensure timely cash activity tracking
  • Close process orders in coordination with operations
  • Maintain accuracy in subledger activity to support a clean and reliable trial balance

Reconciliations & Journal Entries

  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare and post recurring journal entries
  • Maintain supporting schedules and documentation to ensure audit-ready accounts
  • Assist in maintaining the integrity of fixed asset records and depreciation schedules

Month-End Reporting & Financial Analysis

  • Support the monthly close process through timely completion of assigned reconciliations and entries
  • Prepare and analyze:
  • Work in Process (WIP) reports
  • Variance analysis
  • Revenue, margin, and cost reporting by customer
  • Depreciation and book value analysis
  • Perform final close of process orders to ensure proper revenue and cost recognition
  • Process company credit cards and expenses within Procurify

Accounts Receivable & Operational Support

  • Send customer statements and proactively follow up on past-due accounts
  • Perform routine AR tasks to support cash flow management
  • File and maintain complete and accurate unit documentation
  • Maintain chassis inventory records and related tracking schedules
  • Support cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate transaction processing

Process Improvement & System Support

  • Identify and recommend improvements to accounting procedures and ERP workflows
  • Support data integrity across accounting systems
  • Assist with documentation of processes and contribute to close timeline improvements

The Problems You’ll Solve:

First 30 Days

  • Gain working knowledge of ERP workflows, inventory processes, and reporting tools
  • Understand monthly close cadence and reconciliation standards
  • Begin managing daily transactional responsibilities independently

First 90 Days

  • Fully own assigned reconciliations and recurring journal entries
  • Improve accuracy and timeliness of month-end close deliverables
  • Identify opportunities for process efficiencies within AR, inventory, and reporting

First 6 Months

  • Become a reliable resource for accurate financial data and operational reporting
  • Contribute to streamlined close processes and improved reporting clarity
  • Proactively support cross-functional collaboration to strengthen financial accuracy

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience, manufacturing or industrial setting preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and cost accounting principles
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with or exposure to Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) is a plus
  • Detail-oriented, with a passion for accuracy and consistency
  • Proactive and curious—willing to complete tasks while looking for process improvements
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills—able to work across teams and support decision-making
