Staff Accountant

```Job Summary```

We are seeking a part time, detail-oriented, friendly Staff Accountant to join our team. This position is hybrid between working from home and in the office in Overland Park, as well as occasional client visits within the Kansas City metro area. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks, including payroll, general ledger accounting, accounts payable, account reconciliation, sales tax returns, invoicing, and financial reports. This position is based in Overland Park, KS, with a woman owned, growing business.

```Responsibilities```

- Prepare and process payroll for employees

- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions

- Month-end and year-end closing processes

- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts

- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analysis

- Assist in forecasting financial performance

- Sales Tax filings

- Budgeting and cash flow reports

- Invoicing at the first of the month

- Meet with clients

- Year-end 1099 processing

- Communication with clients

```Qualifications```

- Experience in general ledger accounting and account reconciliation

- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and payroll tax regulations

- Proficiency in financial report interpretation

- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Experience with a variety of clients is a plus.
