Since 2015, Nevada Behavioral Health Systems (NBH) has been providing mental health and substance abuse services to residents across Nevada. By collaborating with a diverse network of experienced behavioral healthcare providers, we have built a community-based care system that offers members personalized options tailored to their individual needs. In 2023, we rebranded as NovumHealth with the expansion of our services in Arizona, California, and Utah.

Position: Staff Accountant

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada – Onsite (This role is not eligible for Remote or Hybrid)

Starting Salary Range: $26 per hour

The starting salary range for this role is a reasonable estimate, with a goal to pay a competitive market salary focusing near the median of our pay ranges. However, final offers for all positions will be based on several factors such as experience level, education and certification, skills, and internal pay equity.

What’s the role?

The Staff Accountant encompasses the meticulous management of financial records and transactions within our company. Tasked with ensuring accuracy and compliance, the Staff Accountant plays a pivotal role in maintaining financial health through proficient bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial analysis.

What you’ll do:

  • Experience with high data sets (input & analysis) and reconciliations
  • Journal Entry preparation and assist with month end process and reporting (including financial analytic models).
  • Maintain and update contracts and rates in both database and binders.
  • Compile reports, charts, or graphs that describe and interpret the findings of analyses.
  • Provide application support to billing, accounting, compliance, and other departments as needed, especially for urgent analytical projects.
  • Review, evaluate, and investigate claims data carefully and thoroughly, comparing them with contracts, and prepare dispute reports monthly.
  • Maintain general ledger and production of financial statements
  • Assist with month and quarter close process
  • Support interim and annual external audit
  • Ad hoc analysis and other duties as assigned.

What you’ll bring:

  • Proficient with MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Advanced excel skills.
  • Excellent strategic, analytical and creative thinking aptitude in both an independent and team environment.
  • High sense of accuracy and detail oriented.
  • Ability to follow procedures.
  • Knows when to ask for assistance.

What you’ll need to start:

  • 13 years of experience in an accounting or similar role. Recent graduates may be considered who have a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university.
  • A combination of experience and education may be considered to satisfy this requirement.

What will make you stand out:

  • Basic knowledge of medical and behavioral codes, medical claims, claims processes and procedures, NetSuite, PowerBi, and SQL.
