Laurel Mountain Energy, LLC (“LME”) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant Accountant to join our accounting team. The accountant will support various accounting functions such as AP, month-end close, royalty disbursements, and reporting. 

Location

This role is based at LME’s office in Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania and is expected to be a hybrid position.

Key Responsibilities

·        Process accounts payable, including invoice review, coding, and data entry

·        Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with accounting policies

·        Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies

·        Prepare monthly operating and capital expenditure reports

·        Set up and maintain royalty division order decks including updating ownership changes, payment instructions and responding to royalty owner inquiries

·        Maintain accurate and organized financial records and supporting documentation

·        Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and controls

·        Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned

Qualifications, Education, and Background

·        Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

·        Basic understanding of accounting principles

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus

·        Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

·        Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

·        Good written and verbal communication skills

·        Willingness to learn and grow in a team-oriented environment
