Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting financial reporting processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse financial software systems, contribute to accurate financial data entry, and assist in maintaining the integrity of our accounting records. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and record journal entries, ensuring accuracy in debits and credits for various accounts.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify data integrity.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment management using software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.
  • Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations and assist with month-end closing activities.
  • Support payroll management tasks utilizing systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Assist with compliance audits related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate on budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis to support organizational financial health.
  • Maintain detailed records of financial transactions, ensuring adherence to GAAP standards and governmental accounting regulations when applicable.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles including GAAP and government-specific accounting standards.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with payroll systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos or UltiPro is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and internal control procedures.
  • Ability to perform detailed data entry with high accuracy using 10 key typing skills and double-entry bookkeeping methods.
  • Excellent analytical skills for account reconciliation, account analysis, and financial statement preparation.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, budgeting, credit analysis, and financial acumen.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
