Staff Accountant II

Position Summary

Responsible for performing intermediate-level general accounting functions, preparing and analyzing financial information, and assisting with internal management and SEC/regulatory reporting. This position serves as a progression beyond Staff Accountant I with increased analytical responsibility, ownership of assigned accounting areas, and limited review or coordination responsibilities, while continuing to work under the direction of Finance Management.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare and analyze month-end close activity, including fixed assets, prepaids and accruals, investments, and other assigned accounts
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements for the Bank, Holding Company, and its Subsidiaries
  • Prepare supporting reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual management and Board of Directors reporting
  • Assist with preparation of SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K, including footnote support and tie-outs
  • Assist with preparation of regulatory filings, including FDIC Call Report schedules
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly general ledger balancing and reconciliations
  • Assist with ad-hoc requests from management, auditors, and other departments

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience
  • Banking and regulatory/SEC reporting experience preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • CPA preferred
