Join the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction as a Talent Acquisition Staffing Supervisor , where you will play a key role in strengthening statewide hiring operations and supporting the Talent Acquisition Manager in driving recruitment success. This position plays a critical role in workforce planning, recruitment strategy, and compliance while also providing direct supervision and training to HR staff. Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager, the Staffing Supervisor will be a key partner in ensuring DAC attracts, hires, and retains top talent across the state.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of non-certified recruitment efforts while assisting indirectly with certified positions.
  • Serve as a secondary Workday Security Administrator, managing user roles, monitoring system compliance, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Audit and monitor active job postings across the agency to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
  • Generate and analyze recruitment data, reports, and metrics to guide strategy and leadership decisions.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition Manager and other agency leadership to develop and execute effective posting and recruitment strategies that align with agency goals.
  • Provide Workday training and development for HR staff and agency users, serving as a subject matter expert on recruitment processes.
  • Interpret and explain workforce policies and procedures, offering interpretation and application support to managers, staff, and field recruiters.
  • Supervise recruitment staff, ensuring consistent application of staffing policies, procedures, and best practices across DAC.

In addition to core staffing duties, this position will also:

  • Supervise a direct team of (4) Talent Acquisition Specialist (HR Technician III's). Ensuring that the Staffing Unit is providing the maximum service delivery in a fair and consistent manner to all customers in NC DAC.
  • Regularly consults with hiring managers and other to address issues related to the recruitment and hiring process including position description, job posting, interviewing and applicant selection.
  • Monitoring changes and interpretation to state policy regarding recruitment and staffing and devises strategies for implementation within NC DAC.
  • Any other Talent Acquisition special projects or additional duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work in close partnership with a direct supervisor, internal and external stakeholders while aligning priorities, communicating effectively, and supporting decision-making to ensure seamless coordination of projects, staff, and agency goals within project plan deadlines.

Management Preferences

  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, state/federal employment laws, and staffing best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across diverse HR teams.
  • Experience with HRIS/ATS systems (Workday preferred) and data reporting/analysis.

Bachelor's degree, typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and 4 years of experience required.

or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and 6 years of progressive experience in Human Resources.

or equivalent combination or education and experience.
