Job Summary

The Steel Site Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating all structural steel and miscellaneous steel installation activities at the project site. The role involves managing site workers, ensuring work is carried out according to approved drawings and specifications, maintaining safety standards, and achieving project deadlines.

Key ResponsibilitiesSite Supervision

• Supervise daily steel erection and installation activities.
• Coordinate and direct steel fabricators, welders, riggers, erectors, and helpers on site.
• Ensure all works are executed according to approved shop drawings and project specifications.
• Monitor work progress and productivity to meet project schedules.
• Allocate manpower and equipment efficiently.

Steel Erection & Installation

• Supervise installation of structural steel members, platforms, staircases, handrails, ladders, gratings, and other steel structures.
• Verify dimensions, levels, plumbness, and alignment before final fixing.
• Coordinate lifting operations with crane operators and rigging teams.
• Ensure proper bolting, welding, and connection works are completed as per approved drawings.

Coordination

• Coordinate with Site Engineers, Project Managers, Main Contractors, and Consultants.
• Attend site meetings when required.
• Coordinate material deliveries and ensure materials are available before commencing work.
• Report site issues, delays, and technical concerns to management.

Quality Control

• Ensure workmanship complies with project specifications and quality standards.
• Conduct visual inspections of installed steel components and welds.
• Rectify non-conformance issues and defects identified during inspections.
• Assist QA/QC personnel during inspections and approvals.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Enforce site safety rules and company HSE procedures.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Ensure workers use proper PPE at all times.
• Report unsafe conditions, near misses, and accidents immediately.
• Maintain good housekeeping within the work area.

Reporting

• Prepare daily site progress reports.
• Track manpower attendance and productivity.
• Report completed works and pending activities to the Site Engineer or Project Manager.
• Monitor material consumption and notify management of shortages.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural steel erection and installation works.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel drawings and erection procedures.
• Familiarity with lifting, rigging, and welding activities.
• Ability to manage and motivate site workers.
• UAE driving license is an advantage.
