Position:Steel Structural Engineer (Remote)
Location: Karachi - Remote
Working Hours: 9am to 5pm(Pak Time)

Experience Required

• 4–8 years of hands-on experience in steel structural engineering, preferably within the UAE or GCC region.

Software & Technical Proficiency

1. Design & Analysis (Must Have / Preferred)

• STAAD.Pro – Structural analysis and design for beams, columns, and frames.
• SAP2000 – Advanced structural analysis, including dynamic design.
• ETABS – Structural analysis and design for steel structures, particularly high-rise frames.
• Tekla Structural Designer – Integrated analysis and design for steel and concrete structures.

2. Detailing & Drafting (Mandatory)

• Tekla Structures – 3D modeling and detailing (shop drawings, CNC files, and material lists).
• AutoCAD – 2D drafting and layout preparation.
• Autodesk Advance Steel – 3D modeling and detailing with automated shop drawings and BOMs.

3. BIM Coordination

• Navisworks – Clash detection, coordination, and project review.
• Revit (Steel Detailing Integration) – BIM workflows and multidisciplinary coordination.

4. Project Management & Scheduling

• Primavera P6 – Advanced project planning and scheduling for fabrication and erection.
• MS Project – Progress tracking and basic scheduling.

5. Miscellaneous Tools

• Bluebeam Revu – Review and markup of PDF drawings.
• MS Excel – Calculations, take-offs, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project requirements and prepare structural designs in collaboration with architects and project managers.
• Develop detailed fabrication drawings aligned with site conditions and BOQs.
• Review shop drawings, technical submittals, and ensure approval prior to execution.
• Provide technical support to production and site teams during fabrication and installation.
• Perform structural calculations, load distribution analysis, and prepare design reports.
• Validate material selection, welding methods, and connection details as per design codes.
• Participate in client/consultant meetings and secure necessary approvals.
• Supervise on-site erection, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Support cost estimation, material submissions, and value engineering exercises.
• Prepare and submit material submittals, method statements, and related documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering (attested by MOFA required).
• Experience: Strong background in the design, analysis, fabrication, and supervision of steel structures.
• Driving License: Valid UAE license preferred.

Core Skills

• Strong expertise in steel structure design, connection detailing, and fabrication drawings.
• Solid understanding of load calculations, wind resistance, and structural stability.
• Proficiency in preparing BOQs, material specifications, and shop drawings.
• Familiarity with UAE, American, British, and international standards (AISC, BS, Eurocodes).
