Steel Welder (Stainless Steel)
Job Summary:
The Steel Welder is responsible for welding, fabricating, and repairing stainless steel components and structures according to specifications, drawings, and safety standards. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and experience with stainless steel welding techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform welding on stainless steel materials using TIG, MIG, or ARC welding techniques
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding specifications
- Cut, shape, and fabricate stainless steel components using appropriate tools and equipment
- Ensure welds meet quality standards, strength requirements, and visual inspection criteria
- Prepare materials by cleaning, grinding, and fitting parts before welding
- Operate welding equipment safely and maintain tools in good condition
- Follow safety procedures and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Inspect completed welds and perform necessary repairs or adjustments
- Coordinate with supervisors and team members to meet project timelines
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a welder specializing in stainless steel
- Proficiency in TIG welding (MIG/ARC experience is an advantage)
- Ability to read technical drawings and welding symbols
- Knowledge of stainless steel properties and welding standards
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in various positions
- Capable of lifting heavy materials as required
- Preferred Certifications (if applicable):
- Welding certification (e.g., TIG Stainless Steel Certification)
- Safety training certification
