STEM Camp Counselor

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate STEM Activities: Lead structured lessons and hands-on activities in robotics, engineering, and coding following Snapology’s curriculum.
• Engage & Inspire Campers: Create an exciting and supportive atmosphere that encourages curiosity, problem-solving, and teamwork.
• Ensure Safety & Supervision: Monitor campers at all times to maintain a safe and positive camp environment, enforcing rules and handling any conflicts appropriately.
• Adapt Lessons & Activities: Modify instruction based on campers’ ages, skill levels, and interests to ensure a fun and effective learning experience.
• Encourage Creativity & Critical Thinking: Support campers as they explore new ideas, troubleshoot challenges, and collaborate on projects.
• Communicate with Parents & Staff: Provide updates on camper progress, behavior, and any concerns to parents and the Camp Director.
• Maintain Materials & Setup: Assist with setup and cleanup of camp activities, ensuring materials are organized and in good condition.
• Foster a Positive Camp Experience: Lead by example, demonstrating enthusiasm, patience, and a passion for STEM and education.

Skills:

- Strong educational background and experience working with students

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs

Recommended:

- Knowledge of various subject areas and curriculum standards

- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and special education strategies

- First Aid/CPR certification (or willing to obtain)

- Experience in childcare or babysitting
