Stone & Tile Mason

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Stone & Tile Mason with a minimum of 10 years' hands-on experience installing natural stone and high quality porcelain tiles. The ideal candidate delivers flawless installations, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, and consistently meets luxury project standards and tight schedules.

Key Responsibilities

- Measure, cut, shape and install natural stone (marble, granite, limestone, travertine, etc.) and large format/high quality porcelain tiles for floors, walls, countertops, facades and wet areas.

- Prepare substrates (concrete, screeds, backer boards) to manufacturer and industry standards, including waterproofing and leveling where required.

- Lay out tile patterns, transitions, and stone book matching with precise alignment and minimal joints.

- Select appropriate adhesives, grouts, sealants and fixing methods for materials and environments (interior/exterior, wet areas).

- Perform accurate cutting, grinding and polishing of stone and tile on site and coordinate off site fabrication when needed.

- Ensure consistent grout lines, flush finishes, and tight tolerances; identify and correct defects proactively.

- Read and interpret shop drawings, shop mock ups and finishing schedules; work with project managers, design teams and other trades.

- Maintain clean, safe jobsite practices and secure materials and tools.

- Mentor junior masons and tile setters; supervise small crew as required.

- Maintain quality control records and report progress to site management.

Requirements

- Minimum 10 years' proven experience installing natural stone and premium porcelain tiles on luxury residential and/or commercial projects.

- Strong portfolio or references demonstrating high quality finishes, complex patterns, large format tile work and stone book matching.

- Expert knowledge of substrate preparation, waterproofing systems, adhesives, grouts, sealants and mechanical fixing for stone and porcelain.

- Exceptional attention to detail, precision measuring and finishing skills.

- Ability to read drawings, specifications and perform accurate take offs.

- Competence with tile cutting equipment, wet saws, grinders, polishers and hand tools.

- Experience with large format and rectified edge porcelain tiles, thin porcelain panels, and natural stone fabrication/installation techniques.

- Familiarity with Dubai/UAE building standards and local site practices preferred.

- Strong communication skills, reliability, and ability to work under tight schedules.

- Valid UAE work authorization or eligibility to work in the UAE.

- Driver's license preferred.

Desirable

- Vocational qualification or trade certification in masonry/tiling or related field.

- Experience supervising crews on luxury/high end fit outs.

- Knowledge of sustainable materials and best practices.
