Job Title: Storekeeper

Job Summary:

The Storekeeper is responsible for the efficient management of inventory, including receiving, storing, issuing, and safeguarding materials, supplies, tools, and equipment. This role ensures stock levels are maintained, records are accurately updated, and all inventory-related procedures are followed in compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and supplies.
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of inventory items.
  • Issue materials and products based on authorized requisitions or requests.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using manual logs or inventory management systems.
  • Perform regular stock-taking and reconcile physical stock with records.
  • Ensure the store is clean, organized, and complies with safety standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low stock or discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with procurement and other departments for inventory planning and restocking.
  • Assist in loading and unloading of materials when required.
  • Prepare inventory and usage reports as needed.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and safety regulations at all times.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in inventory management is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a storekeeper, warehouse assistant, or similar role.
  • Familiarity with inventory software (e.g., ERP systems, MS Excel).
  • Basic understanding of supply chain procedures and warehouse safety.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift moderately heavy items.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
