Storekeeper – Construction Site

Position Overview:

We are seeking a meticulous and organized Storekeeper with construction experience to manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment on-site. This role is vital to ensuring the smooth operation of construction projects by maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting the procurement process.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

• Maintain accurate records of all materials and equipment received, stored, and issued.
• Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies promptly.
• Ensure proper labeling and categorization of items for easy identification and retrieval.

Material Handling:

• Oversee the safe unloading, inspection, and storage of incoming materials.
• Issue materials to construction teams based on requisitions, ensuring timely availability.
• Monitor stock levels and initiate reordering to prevent shortages.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain detailed logs of material transactions, including receipts, issues, and returns.
• Prepare and submit regular inventory reports to management.
• Assist in the preparation of purchase orders and track deliveries.

Site Organization & Safety:

• Ensure materials are stored in a safe, organized manner, adhering to safety regulations.
• Monitor the condition of stored items and report any damages or discrepancies.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly storage area.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Coordinate with project managers and procurement teams to align material needs with project timelines.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers and vendors regarding orders and deliveries.
• Provide support during project planning phases by advising on material requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Storekeeper in the construction industry or similar field.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment safely.
• Familiarity with inventory management software or manual tracking systems.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic knowledge of construction materials and equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in inventory management or logistics are a plus.
