Storekeeper - Electrical Trading/ Switchgear

Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Storekeeper specialized in Electrical Trading and Switchgear to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will oversee the management of electrical components, switchgear products, and related materials within our warehouse. Your expertise will ensure seamless inventory control, efficient warehouse operations, and accurate order fulfillment. Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory levels of electrical switchgear, components, and accessories using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP or AS400.
  • Coordinate procurement activities including sourcing, purchasing, negotiation with vendors, and supplier management to ensure timely stock availability.
  • Oversee warehouse distribution processes, including shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and dispatching to optimize supply chain efficiency.
  • Implement process improvements in materials handling, stock control, and logistics operations to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies or supply chain disruptions; develop corrective action plans accordingly.
  • Utilize data analysis skills with tools like Tableau or SQL for demand planning, inventory analysis, and supply chain analytics to inform decision-making.
  • Supervise forklift operation and other mechanical equipment to ensure safe handling of materials; enforce safety protocols in warehouse activities.
  • Collaborate with transportation management teams on freight planning, NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) arrangements, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers for efficient delivery schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipping & receiving logs, inventory movements, contracts, vendor performance, and procurement documentation.
  • Support e-commerce order processing and coordinate with production planning teams to align stock levels with demand forecasts.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in warehouse management within electrical trading or switchgear industries; familiarity with warehouse experience is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles including procurement, sourcing, category management, and inventory control.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP platforms like SAP or AS400, and transportation management systems.
  • Data collection and analysis skills using tools such as Tableau or SQL; ability to interpret complex data sets for demand planning and process improvement initiatives.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to electrical components and switchgear products is highly desirable.
  • Certification in forklift operation; familiarity with mechanical handling equipment is preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation skills coupled with vendor management expertise; ability to develop strategic sourcing solutions.
  • Strong understanding of logistics concepts including freight forwarding, shipping & receiving procedures, NVOCC operations, and 3PL coordination.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities; experience conducting root cause analysis for supply chain issues.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments such as procurement, logistics, production planning, and sales teams.
