Structural BIM Modeler

Position Summary

The Structural BIM Modeler is responsible for developing accurate BIM models and detailed structural drawings using BIM software such as Revit and AutoCAD. The role involves coordinating with design engineers, preparing structural shop drawings, and ensuring that all models adhere to project standards, specifications, and BIM execution plans. The candidate must have a strong understanding of structural elements and hands-on experience in civil construction projects.

Key Responsibilities1. BIM Modeling & Drafting

• Create detailed 3D BIM models for structural elements such as foundations, columns, beams, slabs, retaining walls, staircases, and other structural components.
• Prepare detailed 2D shop drawings and layouts derived from BIM models.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project BIM standards and LOD requirements.

2. Coordination

• Coordinate with architectural, MEP, and civil teams to resolve clashes and ensure seamless integration of structural models.
• Participate in coordination meetings and update models based on design changes and site requirements.
• Identify and report clashes using tools such as Navisworks.

3. Documentation & Detailing

• Prepare reinforcement detailing drawings (rebar schedules, BBS, sectional details).
• Update drawings and models based on revisions, RFIs, and consultant/client comments.
• Maintain proper documentation of all BIM files, drawing logs, and revision histories.

4. Quality Control

• Review models for compliance with project standards and building codes.
• Ensure all drawings meet the accuracy needed for civil construction execution.
• Support QA/QC checks for BIM content and drawing outputs.

5. Collaboration & Support

• Work closely with structural engineers to understand design intent and technical requirements.
• Provide BIM support to the site team when needed (layouts, sections, details).
• Assist in preparing BIM presentations, 4D simulations, or visualizations if required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Drafting Technology.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Structural BIM Modeler in civil construction projects.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit (Structural) and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Navisworks, BIM 360, or similar platforms is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of structural elements, detailing standards, and civil construction methods.
• Understanding of international BIM standards and codes is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time
