QUALIFICATION: B.E/DIPLOMA (MECHANICAL ENGINEERING) - REQUIRED
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: MINIMUM OF 3-4 YEARS EXPERIENCE
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise structural steel fabrication activities including cutting, fitting, welding, grinding, and assembly
- Interpret fabrication drawings, shop drawings, GA drawings, and welding symbols
- Plan daily work activities and assign tasks to fabricators, welders, fitters, and helpers
- Ensure fabrication work complies with approved drawings, project specifications, and quality standards
- Coordinate with QC inspectors, welding inspectors, and engineers during fabrication and inspections
- Monitor and control material usage, traceability, and identification
- Ensure proper fit-up, dimensional accuracy, and tolerances
- Supervise welding activities as per WPS and ensure correct welding procedures are followed
- Identify and rectify fabrication defects and non-conformances
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and stacking of fabricated members
- Coordinate surface preparation, painting, and coating activities if applicable
- Maintain daily production and progress reports
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations in the workshop
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication processes
- Ability to read and understand fabrication/shop drawings and welding symbols
- Basic knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, SAW)
- Familiarity with WPS, PQR, and welder qualifications
- Understanding of dimensional tolerances and fit-up requirements
- Basic knowledge of NDT methods (VT, MT, UT, RT)
- Knowledge of material grades, profiles, and standards (plates, beams, pipes)
Quality Control Skills
- Inspection of fit-up, welding, and final fabrication
- Understanding of quality documentation and inspection checklists
- Ability to identify welding defects and corrective actions
Leadership & Management Skills
- Team supervision and productivity control
- Task planning and manpower allocation
Communication & Reporting
- Clear communication with engineers, QC, and production teams
- Daily reporting of progress, issues, and manpower
- Coordination with stores and material control teams

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
