Student Administrative Assistant

As a non-profit, neutral convener, BlueForge Alliance aligns strategy with execution to coordinate regional stakeholders, assess and propose high-value efforts, and rapidly establish and deploy U.S. Department of Defense investments. By streamlining competing priorities and viewpoints, we aim to increase manufacturing capacity and technology adoption, boost the number of available suppliers and diversify investment into the defense industrial base.


Position Summary:

The Student Admin Assistant provides a variety of assistance to different departments of BlueForge, providing administrative and operational support where needed. This role is intended to be an opportunity for a current student to apply their skills in the workplace, build professional relationships, and contribute to the success of our organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with clerical tasks, such as data entry, filing, photocopying, and organizing documents.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and handle inquiries in a professional manner.
  • Support staff members in preparing reports, presentations, and other relevant documents.
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating meetings, workshops, and events.
  • Conduct research and gather information as instructed by supervisors.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficiency and effective workflow.
  • Run errands as required, such as delivering documents or picking up supplies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week, but no more than 29 hours per week.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and part of team, prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Punctual and reliable.

Education, Certifications, and Experience:
  • Currently enrolled as a student in a high school, college, or university program.

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to load, unload boxes, restock shelves, and assist with room set up.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Travel Expectations:
  • Expected travel: None.
  • ** Periodic travel to HQ for meetings may be required.

BlueForge Alliance is a federal contractor, and many of the positions are security sensitive. The anticipated salary range for this role is $15.00 - $18.00, based on factors such as experience, skills, required location, and available funding. Actual compensation may vary and will be determined during the interview process and in accordance with applicable laws.
