Student Employee - Graphic Artist, Elliott Student Union

Description

Under the direction of the Marketing Graduate Assistant, the Elliott Student Union Graphic Artist creates designs, promotions, and materials in support of the Elliott Student Union’s missions.


Examples of Duties

Duties Include:

  • Combine art and technology to communicate ideas through images for the promotion of the Elliott Student Union, its services, and programs.
  • Participate in various stages of developing marketing programs and advertising materials to promote the Elliott Student Union.
  • Become familiar with graphic design strategies best utilized by college unions.
  • Assist with several key projects, such as the Union Birthday Bash, ESU special events, public outreach efforts, etc.
  • Communicate and interact with departmental staff to ensure quality project plans/designs.
  • Design flyers, advertisements, newsletters, logos, posters, brochures, and other print or digital media.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

Minimum & Preferred Requirements:

  • Must be currently enrolled at the University of Central Missouri
  • 2.5 GPA
  • Knowledge of and experience with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and handle multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, communication, and public relations skills
  • Basic knowledge of the Elliott Student Union is desired

Supplemental Information

Working Days and Hours:

  • This is a part-time (10-15 hours/week) position during the school year (additional hours may be available over the summer). Availability to work shifts during normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This position requires a cover letter.
