Student Supervisor (Immediate Start) Al Shohub British School

Job Description

Aldar Education are currently seeking a Student Supervisor (Immediate Start) for Al Shohub Private School to support our growing family of owned and operated schools in the UAE.

Al Shohub Private School is a British curriculum, part of Aldar Schools, offering mixed gender primary school located in a purpose-built educational facility, at Khalifa City A, Abu Dhabi. Al Shohub Private School was founded in 1999 by Her Highness Sheikha Shaikha Bint Saif Al Nahyan to provide exceptional education in Abu Dhabi. The large majority of our students are Emiratis. Responsibilities

Main Duties:

  • Effective, sensitive and personable communication skills with students, parents and staff. Communication may be in


written form, e-mail, via phone or in person.

  • Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships by developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with


others and maintaining them over time

  • Support of reception staff and attendance officer in regards to students whereabouts
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
  • Play an active role working with the Pastoral Team to plan, implement and improve both internal or external systems or


processes by thinking logically, creatively and collaboratively. e.g. attendance, punctuality, starters and leavers, lockers.

  • Working closely with relevant Assistant Principal, Heads of Year, Heads of Key Stage as well as working with admissions,


housekeeping, IT and external providers if required. e.g. GCSE Open Evening, Information Evenings, Annual Awards,

Assemblies and reward parties

  • Keeping abreast of internal events and identifying and managing clashes of venues / year groups and times
  • Ensuring all pastoral information and data is: accurate, timely, approved, reliable, clear and fit for purpose. E.g.


attendance, punctuality, internal interventions and rewards

  • Ensure reward certificates are uploaded to ePraise and printed for Heads of Year and Heads of Key Stage ready for


assembly.

  • Main systems include, but are not limited to iSAMS, ePraise, CPOMS, Microsoft (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel),


SmartPass and Canva.

  • Updating, managing and checking annual pastoral and curriculum handbooks.
  • Help to monitor, use and control resources / spending of those resources under the Moral Education umbrella.
  • Maintaining stock of required resources. E.g. Form Rep badges, House Captain badges, awards, stationary
  • Play an active role in team work and help to plan and implement improvements to internal or external systems or


processes by thinking logically, creatively and collaboratively

  • Resolve problems concerning customers by analysing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and


solve problems

  • Perform visual and basic checks on relevant office equipment - identify problems or defects. Contact the relevant person /


team in order to get equipment: fixed, replaced or removed from service

  • Duties include general administration, diary and schedule management, welcoming guests customer service / reception


duties, input data and information, maintain and interrogate information, solve problems and collaborate with others in

school in order to help facilitate and support teaching, learning and business activity within school

  • To act as an interpreter at parent-student meetings, as required;
  • To assist with the preparation for end of term celebrations awards and certificates;
  • To assist with organisation of parent- teacher-student conferences;
  • To produce pastoral information and guidance to parents, staff and students;
  • POC for organisation of ECA,s, Trips, activities and Events between students, parents, teachers and Authorities.
  • Main point of contact of the trips and visits organiser at school level.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • School leavers certificate or educational equivalent
  • English and Mathematics to GCSE or equivalent


Minimum Experience

  • Relevant Experience
  • Currently or previously a front of house assistant, secretary, clerical, office or administration assistant


Job Specific Knowledge & Skills

  • Computer literate including the use of Isams, Microsoft, Canva or other design programmes
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Must be proficient in both English and Arabic (speaking, reading and writing)
  • IT literate: knowledge and expertise of office procedures and appropriate software including Microsoft Office
  • Inter-personal skills
  • Organisational skills
