Substitute Child Care "Float" Teachers (Multiple YMCAs)

The Appleton YMCA, Child Learning Center, Fox West YMCA and Neenah-Menasha YMCA are hiring part-time child care teachers to be a substitute teacher (or float staff) throughout our center. Be a strong, kind and gentle spirit with the ability to work with children ranging in age from 12 months through 6-years old. As an early childhood teacher, you'll have the opportunity create lessons plans, foster an environment for early learning & social development. Enhance children's learning experiences through play, language, and interactive activities. Families love bringing their children to the Y because of our amazing teachers and the high-quality of child care.

This is a part-time with opportunity for hours Monday through Friday between 6:30 am-5:45 pm.

Applicants who do not obtain these courses are encouraged to apply. The Y can provide coursework & support to complete these requirements.

• 18 years of age or older.
• Completed high school or its equivalency as determined by the DPI.
• Previous experience working with infants and children is preferred.

Assistant Teacher Positions Possess one or more of following or willing to complete within 6-months of hire:

• Completion of Introduction to Child Care Professions course
• At least 2 credits in early childhood education, qualifying coursework
• Assistant Teacher registry certificate

Lead Teacher Positions Possess one or more of the following or willing to complete within 6-months of hire, in addition to completing Introduction to Child Care Professions:

• Skills and Strategies for the Childcare teacher
• Associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or education-related.
• Teacher registry certificate
