Position Overview – Substitute Teacher

Substitute Teachers at Seeds of Life Montessori Academy provide support and continuity of learning when classroom guides are absent. This role requires flexibility, professionalism, and a love for working with children in a Montessori, neuroinclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow lesson plans and routines provided by classroom guides
• Support a calm, respectful, and engaging classroom environment
• Maintain student safety and uphold school policies
• Observe and respond to the needs of all learners, including neurodiverse students
• Communicate with faculty regarding classroom activities and student progress

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; some college coursework preferred
• Teaching or substitute teaching experience a plus, but not required
• Montessori experience a plus, but not required
• Completion of the State of Florida 40-hour Substitute Training Course a plus, but not required
• Willingness to begin the State of Florida 40-hour Substitute Training Course is required
