Job Summary
Join our vibrant team as a Summer Camp Counselor at Jacob's Well Christian Learning Center, where your enthusiasm and dedication will inspire children to explore, learn, and grow through engaging activities and compassionate care. In this dynamic role, you will create a safe, nurturing environment that fosters childhood development, encourages creativity, and promotes positive social interactions. Your energy and leadership will help make each day memorable for our young campers, ensuring they have a fun, enriching summer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and engage children in a variety of camp activities, including sports, arts and crafts, theater, and outdoor play.
  • Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques to promote a respectful and inclusive environment.
  • Implement age-appropriate curriculum activities that support early childhood education and childhood development principles.
  • Ensure the safety of all children by adhering to child care standards, conducting regular safety checks, and responding promptly to any emergencies with first aid procedures when necessary.
  • Foster positive relationships with children by providing emotional support, encouragement, and Christian counseling as needed.
  • Collaborate with fellow staff members to plan daily schedules that incorporate educational and recreational activities tailored to different age groups.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress and any concerns that arise during camp sessions.

Experience

  • Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, summer camp, tutoring, babysitting, or early childhood education is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated classroom management skills to effectively oversee groups of children in active environments.
  • Knowledge of behavior management strategies and childhood development stages to support each child's individual needs.
  • Certifications in first aid and CPR are strongly recommended to ensure safety during all activities.
  • Experience in special education or working with children with diverse needs is a plus.
  • Background in sports coaching, theater arts, or childcare enhances your ability to lead engaging activities confidently. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
