Job Summary
California Chemical Company is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Supply Chain Associate – Customer Service to support customer service and supply chain operations. This role will serve as a key point of contact for customers regarding pricing, product availability, order fulfillment, lead times, shipment status, and logistics coordination.
The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, a professional attitude, and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams including procurement, logistics, warehouse, accounts, and sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond professionally and promptly to customer inquiries related to pricing, product availability, order status, lead times, and shipments.
- Coordinate with procurement to confirm product availability, purchasing timelines, supplier updates, and incoming inventory.
- Work closely with logistics and warehouse teams to arrange shipments, track deliveries, and provide customers with accurate shipment updates.
- Support order fulfillment by ensuring orders are processed accurately, timely, and according to customer requirements.
- Coordinate with the accounts team regarding invoices, payment status, credit terms, and customer account requirements.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication between customers, sales, procurement, logistics, warehouse, and accounts teams.
- Follow up on pending orders, backorders, shipment delays, customer requests, and documentation requirements.
- Assist with new customer onboarding by collecting customer forms, account details, and required documentation.
- Update customer records, order notes, pricing details, shipment information, and other relevant data in company systems.
- Help resolve customer concerns or order-related issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Support internal reporting related to orders, inventory, shipment status, and customer follow-ups.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is required from a reputable university.
- Degree may be in Business Administration (BBA), Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or any other relevant discipline.
- Candidates with strong academic credentials from recognized universities will be preferred.
- Prior experience with a well-established and reputable company is strongly preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in customer service, supply chain, logistics, procurement, order management, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.
- Good understanding of pricing, order processing, inventory availability, lead times, shipment coordination, and customer service operations.
- Ability to coordinate effectively across multiple departments including procurement, logistics, warehouse, sales, and accounts.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow up consistently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with ERP or order management systems is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and customer requests.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in chemical, ingredients, distribution, manufacturing, trading, or B2B supply chain environment.
- Experience working with customer inquiries, order fulfillment, inventory coordination, and shipment logistics.
- Prior work experience with a reputable organization or professionally structured company.
- Ability to handle customer communication politely and professionally through email and phone.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to coordinate with internal teams to close customer requests.
