Manage the materials plan: You will take full ownership of the materials plan for your projects. This includes proactively finding and fixing any gaps in the supply chain to prevent delays.
Master key systems: You'll become an expert in the Bill of Materials (BOM), Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to ensure accurate and reliable demand planning.
Collaborate across teams: Work closely with colleagues in production control, engineering, and procurement to make sure material needs are always met.
Ensure a smooth flow: Develop solutions that guarantee a continuous and seamless flow of raw materials, sub-assemblies, and purchased parts to the production line.
Partner on builds: Work with engineering and program management to fully understand the manufacturing and material requirements of each new product build.
Improve processes: Continuously look for ways to improve our processes and optimize inventory, using techniques like Just-in-Time (JIT) to boost efficiency.
Analyze data: Use your data analysis skills to find ways to improve outcomes and streamline the supply chain.
2+ years of proven experience as a Supply Chain Materials Planner in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
A bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
In-depth knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Master Production Schedule (MPS), and Clear-to-Build principles. Experience with ERP systems is also required.
A solid understanding of inventory management techniques, such as Just-in-Time (JIT).
The ability to work effectively with various teams and influence outcomes without direct authority.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Professional certifications such as APICS CPSM or CPIM are a plus.
Experience in a research and development (R&D) environment or with Engineer-to-Order (ETO) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) compliance is preferred.
Experience working with external contract manufacturers.
A proven ability to solve complex problems that go beyond your specific area of responsibility.
Experience working as part of multi-functional teams.
The ability to create sophisticated planning and analysis tools.
