Supply Planning Assistant Manager

Cairo, Egypt

Job Purpose

The Supply Planning Assistant Manager is responsible for managing country-level supply planning to ensure accurate, cost-efficient alignment between demand forecasts and supply availability. The role ensures timely replenishment of both perishable and non-perishable products, drives inventory efficiency, and reduces wastage. The position requires close collaboration with all related internal departments locally & centrally (other Floward countries) and external parties , as well as proactive data-driven decision-making.This role also plays a leadership part in driving country-level improvement projects and mentoring junior staff, contributing to stronger planning capability and business continuity.


Key Responsibilities

Supply Planning & Execution

  • Develop and maintain country-level supply plans aligned with demand forecasts and sales targets.
  • Manage purchase cycles for perishable and non-perishable products, ensuring consistent replenishment.
  • Coordinate internal stock transfers across operational centres within the country to balance inventory.
  • Monitor inbound deliveries and lead times to prevent shortages and escalations.

Inventory Management

  • Track and analyse inventory levels to ensure balanced stock while avoiding overstocking or stockouts.
  • Implement best practices to minimize spoilage and damages, especially for perishables.
  • Review and report on key KPIs such as inventory turnover, wastage, and availability rates.
  • Lead root-cause analysis of inventory discrepancies and apply corrective actions.

Supplier Coordination & Cost Efficiency

  • Manage local and international suppliers relationships to secure quality, timely deliveries, and competitive terms.
  • Negotiate procurement terms to optimize costs while sustaining service levels.
  • Conduct supplier performance reviews and recommend process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and contracts.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Utilize Company’s soft tools, ERP systems and advanced Excel to track and manage procurement and supply data.
  • Prepare regular reports on supply performance, inventory health, and demand–supply reconciliation.
  • Identify trends and insights to continuously enhance forecasting accuracy and planning efficiency.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Act as the focal point for supply planning in the country, ensuring alignment across procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams.
  • Lead small-scale improvement projects to optimize country supply chain efficiency.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff , supporting their development in ERP use, forecasting, procurement and best practices
  • Collaborate with regional teams on supply planning, procurement initiatives and knowledge sharing.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in supply planning, demand planning, or inventory management in FMCG, retail, or e-commerce.
  • Experience managing perishable goods is highly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency; ERP system knowledge (e.g., MS Dynamics or similar) required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; BI tool experience is a plus.
