  The Survey Foreman is responsible for leading a field survey crew and performing daily layout activities including setting control points, grade staking, and verifying as-built data. Working under the direction of the Survey General Foreman, this role ensures that layout tasks are executed with accuracy and in alignment with project drawings, specifications, and schedule requirements. The Survey Foreman plays a key role in supporting construction sequencing and ensuring quality and safety across survey functions.

What You’ll Do

• Lead a survey crew in layout tasks (staking, trench alignment, roads, benchmarks)

• Set up, operate, and maintain survey equipment (GPS, total stations, levels)

• Interpret plans/drawings and perform accurate field measurements

• Coordinate daily layout activities with site teams and leadership

• Capture, document, and report survey data; identify and communicate field issues

• Follow safety standards, maintain records, and comply with company policies

What You Bring

• Proficiency in GPS, total stations, and reading construction/site layout drawings

• Strong communication, teamwork, and digital data/documentation skills

• Knowledge of safety standards in civil or solar construction environments

• 3+ years of survey layout experience (lead/crew chief and solar experience preferred)

• High school diploma/GED and valid driver’s license required

• Ability to meet physical demands of fieldwork and travel as needed
