A Surveying Engineer is responsible for planning, conducting, and supervising land and construction surveys to determine property boundaries, elevations, and site layouts. The role supports engineering, construction, and infrastructure projects by providing accurate spatial data and ensuring compliance with legal, technical, and safety standards.
Responsibilities

Conduct land, topographic, boundary, and construction surveys

Establish control points, benchmarks, and reference systems

Prepare and review survey drawings, maps, and reports

Use surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS/GNSS, levels.

Interpret engineering drawings and project specifications

Coordinate with civil engineers, architects, and construction teams

Verify site dimensions, alignments, and elevations during construction

Ensure surveys comply with legal requirements and industry standards

Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment

Supervise survey technicians and field crews

Manage survey data using CAD, GIS, and surveying software

Identify and resolve discrepancies between design and site conditions
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

3–5 years of experience in Surveying' for MEP or infrastructure projects.

Proven experience as a Surveying Engineer.

Strong knowledge of surveying principles and methods.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and survey processing software.

Familiarity with local land laws, codes, and regulations.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
