SUSHI CHEF

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and creative Sushi Chef to join our restaurant team. The Sushi Chef will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes, ensuring freshness, taste, and presentation that meet our restaurant’s standards. This role requires expertise in Japanese cuisine, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining hygiene and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve sushi, sashimi, maki, nigiri, and other Japanese dishes according to recipes and standards.
  • Ensure the freshness and quality of fish, seafood, and other ingredients.
  • Maintain proper storage, handling, and inventory of sushi ingredients.
  • Create visually appealing presentations for all dishes.
  • Assist in menu planning, development of new sushi items, and daily specials.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
  • Monitor stock levels and communicate supply needs to management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi bar and kitchen area.
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with guests (if applicable).
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role.
  • Knowledge of traditional and modern sushi preparation techniques.
  • Strong knife skills and attention to detail in cutting and presentation.
  • Understanding of food safety standards and proper handling of raw seafood.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creativity and passion for Japanese cuisine.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Culinary training or certification in Japanese cuisine (preferred but not required).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: QAR3,500.00 - QAR4,500.00 per month
