Switchyard Design Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Switchyard Design Engineer to join our engineering team.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the design and development of High Voltage (HV)/Extra High Voltage (EHV) switchyards, including layout planning, lighting systems, and earthing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop switchyard layouts in compliance with industry standards and client specifications (AIS/GIS).

Prepare general arrangement drawings (GAs), sectional views, equipment placements, and cable trench routing.

Develop lighting system design for switchyard areas ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Design and calculate earthing/grounding systems, including fault current analysis, soil resistivity, and grid layout.

Collaborate with civil, structural, and protection engineers for interdisciplinary coordination.

Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions.

Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases as needed.

Key Skills:

Switchyard Layout Design (AIS/GIS up to 400kV or higher)

Lighting System Design (including lux level calculations, pole placements)

Earthing System Design (ETAP or similar software knowledge is a plus)

Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, and relevant electrical design software.

Good understanding of electrical clearances, safety codes, and engineering standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

Diploma/ITI in Electrical Engineering

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in switchyard/substation projects.

Familiarity with Hydro power and EPC project environments.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per month
