Job Description: System Administrator

Simpaisa is seeking a skilled System Administrator with expertise in managing enterprise IT infrastructure, security and Microsoft 365 services. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of firewalls, servers and networks, along with leadership capabilities to guide and support the IT team.

Key Responsibilities

· Configure, manage, and monitor firewalls including VPN setup, security policies, intrusion prevention, and troubleshooting.

· Manage enterprise network infrastructure including LAN/WAN, routers, switches, VLANs, wireless controllers, and bandwidth optimization.

· Administer Microsoft 365 services including Intune for device and application management, Microsoft Defender for endpoint security, Exchange Online for email setup, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams collaboration.

· Perform system monitoring, upgrades, and patching to ensure high availability, stability, and performance of IT infrastructure.

· Configure virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, or cloud-based solutions) and manage virtual machines, storage, and backups.

· Implement and maintain backup solutions, disaster recovery strategies, and business continuity plans.

· Monitor IT security posture, enforce compliance with standards (ISO, PCI DSS etc.), and conduct regular audits.

· Lead the IT support team, assign daily tasks, track progress, and provide mentoring and training to junior staff.

· Collaborate with cross-functional departments to align IT infrastructure with business requirements.

· Manage IT assets, maintain documentation of systems and procedures, and ensure timely updates of SOPs.

· Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and networking issues, escalating when necessary to vendors or senior management.

· Implement endpoint security, mobile device management, and data protection policies across the organization.

· Research and recommend new technologies, tools, and practices to improve IT efficiency and security posture.

Qualifications & Skills

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (preferred).

· 3+ years of experience in system/network administration.

· Strong knowledge of firewalls, routing, and VPN technologies.

· Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V).

· Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Intune, Defender, Exchange, Teams).

· Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

· Strong leadership, communication, and team management abilities.

· Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, Fortinet NSE, CompTIA Security+) are a plus.
