Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB) is the world’s most comprehensive education, rehabilitation, and service program serving individuals of all ages who are Deaf, Blind, DeafBlind, and multidisabled and their families. The Talent Acquisition Coordinator role will be responsible for providing the highest level of recruiting services to AIDB’s leaders. Under the leader’s supervision, the Talent Acquisition team will deliver high-quality professional candidates to support our main campus and regional centers. The ideal candidate will develop and implement strategies for full life-cycle recruiting and maintain excellent relations with hiring managers, candidates, and strategic vendors.

You will play a vital role to ensure that AIDB’s culture of inclusion is reinforced and that employees feel connected, recognized, and proud to be a part of our organization. This will be accomplished by executing a full life-cycle recruiting process that aligns with our mission. By fostering strong relationships with hiring managers and candidates, you’ll help create an efficient hiring experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in pre-hire compliance.
  • Knowledge of job postings.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Two years of work experience that deals with a high level of integrity, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
  • Strong computer skills that include spreadsheets and databases.
  • Ability to multitask.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience posting jobs on different sites such as Indeed, Hire True, AASBO, and LinkedIn.
  • Experience in screening candidates by reviewing resumes and job applications.
  • Experience in applicant tracking.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Understands and executes the flow of applicant and pre-hire documentation and compliance, including but not limited to posting and disseminating vacancy announcements.
  • Maintain all applicant tracking files and database.
  • Review and forward applicants' documentation to the appropriate campus.
  • Monitor reasons and supporting documentation for all non-hires to ensure that the reason is valid and accurate.
  • Review job postings to ensure that the verbiage and salary are correct with the hiring manager, recruiting manager, and human resource partners.
  • Oversee all job boards.
  • Maintain a recruiting dashboard to provide updates to the President and Chief of Human Resources.
  • Verifies all certifications and requirements for new hires and transfers.
  • Ensure that we comply with EEOC guidelines.
  • Train with the Talent Acquisition Partner and be the backup for the position.
  • Assist with screening applicants and scheduling interviews.
  • Assist with job fairs when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • A sign language proficiency level of SURVIVAL according to the AIDB evaluation system must be obtained within the first thirty-six (36) months of employment.
  • Upon offer of employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint background check at an agency designated and paid by AIDB

SALARY: $21.05-25.32 Scale C5-44 (260 days)

This position is paid bi-weekly.

This is an exempt position and is not subject to overtime and/or compensatory time provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
