Location: Karachi especially - Districts Keamari/Malir, with regular school-level field visits.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Content & Material Development
- Develop, adapt, and review Sindhi/Urdu learning materials, classroom activities, worksheets, and assessments in line with TaRL principles and project learning objectives.
- Ensure alignment of all teaching-learning materials with project curricula, student learning levels, and FLN frameworks.
- Support the development of training manuals, lesson plans, and instructional guides for teachers and field mentors.
- Review and improve existing materials based on field feedback, assessment data, and classroom observations.
Teacher Training & Mentoring
- Facilitate teacher training sessions, orientations, and refresher workshops on TaRL approaches for Sindhi/Urdu literacy.
- Provide continuous, structured academic mentoring and coaching to teachers for improving classroom delivery and student engagement.
- Model effective teaching practices in classrooms to demonstrate activity-based and level-appropriate instruction.
- Support field mentors and coordinators in building their understanding of TaRL methodologies and subject-specific strategies.
Field Monitoring & Assessment
- Conduct regular, structured field visits to assigned schools to monitor classroom implementation of TaRL activities.
- Observe teaching practices in Sindhi/Urdu classrooms and provide constructive, evidence-based written and verbal feedback.
- Conduct baseline, midline, and endline student assessments and support accurate documentation of learning data.
- Track student learning progress across levels and ensure proper maintenance of learning records and profiles.
- Identify implementation challenges and escalate with recommended solutions to the TaRL Lead.
Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with district teams, school administration, and project staff to ensure smooth programme implementation.
- Maintain proper documentation of activities, assessments, training records, and field visit reports.
- Prepare regular monitoring reports, visit reports, and progress updates for submission to the Training & Academics Manager.
- Participate actively in project meetings, planning sessions, reviews, and workshops.
- Contribute to the compilation and analysis of learning data for donor reporting and programme improvement.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Sindhi/Urdu Language, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in teaching, teacher training, or literacy programme implementation.
- Strong subject knowledge of Sindhi or Urdu language pedagogy and early grade literacy instruction.
- Familiarity with TaRL, FLN, or activity-based learning frameworks preferred.
- Experience conducting classroom observations and providing structured teacher feedback.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic data entry; experience with KOBO or digital data tools an advantage.
- Fluency in Sindhi (for Sindhi Specialist) or Urdu (for Urdu Specialist); working knowledge of English.
Pay: Rs80,000.00 - Rs100,000.00 per month
