Duties
- Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profit organizations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax laws.
- Advise clients on estate planning strategies, including wills, trusts, and estate law t, to maximize wealth transfer and minimize tax liabilities.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and interpret financial reports to identify tax-saving opportunities and ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Assist with mergers & acquisitions by providing tax due diligence, structuring advice, and post-transaction integration support.
- Support regulatory reporting requirements such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and other financial disclosures.
- Utilize accounting software and our specialized tax software to prepare financial statements, reconcile accounts, and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with clients on budgeting, financial planning, asset management, and investment strategies to optimize their financial health.
- Perform audits and account reconciliations, including balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger accounting, and accounts payable processing.
- Keep abreast of evolving tax laws such as LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) regulations, to advise clients effectively.
Experience
- PTIN certification
- At least 2 years of tax preparation experience
- Equivalent experience in administration or bookkeeping (trainable)
- Proven experience in public accounting or corporate tax roles with a strong foundation in tax experience across various sectors.
- Demonstrated expertise in estate planning, wills, trusts & estate law, and non-profit accounting practices.
- Solid understanding of financial concepts, including double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, GAAP standards, and regulatory reporting frameworks.
- Experience with auditing procedures, account reconciliation processes, and general ledger management.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial reports and provide actionable insights.
