We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Tax Associate to join our Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns for both individual and corporate clients, ensuring complete compliance with U.S. and international tax regulations. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in U.S. tax laws, a strong command of Microsoft Excel, and a genuine interest in developing a career in international taxation. Prior experience in a BPO environment or with U.S. tax filings will be a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individual and corporate clients.
- Assist senior tax professionals with tax research, interpretation of regulations, and identification of compliance or optimization opportunities.
- Prepare detailed work papers, schedules, and supporting documentation in accordance with internal controls and reporting standards.
- Review financial statements and accounting records to ensure completeness and accuracy for tax reporting purposes.
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions, including deferred tax calculations.
- Stay updated on changes in U.S. and international tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements.
- Communicate effectively with clients and tax authorities to gather necessary information and resolve tax-related matters.
- Prepare audit documentation and assist during internal and external tax audits.
- Ensure all tax filings and payments are submitted accurately and on time.
- Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to maintain efficient and accurate tax reporting processes.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance tax accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development to strengthen expertise in U.S. and international taxation.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in taxation, accounting, or a related role (fresh graduates with internship experience are encouraged to apply).
- Strong knowledge of U.S. tax laws and filing requirements is mandatory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas and data analysis) is required.
- Experience with tax or accounting software such as QuickBooks, CCH, or Drake is an advantage.
- Exposure to international taxation or BPO environments is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.
- Willingness to work night shifts to support international clients.
