Position Summary
BioTech Energy Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a Tax / Corporate Officer for its Head Office Lahore. Who will oversee the company's tax compliance, planning, and corporate secretarial functions. This role ensures timely and accurate filing of all tax returns and corporate documents with relevant federal, state, and local authorities, while also advising management on tax strategies and regulatory changes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file various tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, withholding tax (WHT), and goods and services tax (GST) where applicable.
- Ensure timely payment of all tax liabilities and prepare quarterly and annual tax reports.
- Manage and coordinate tax audits, assessments, inquiries, and disputes with tax authorities (e.g., FBR).
- Conduct thorough tax research and analysis to identify potential tax savings, credits, and opportunities to minimize tax liabilities legally.
- Reconcile tax balances on the general ledger and prepare tax provisions for financial statements.
- Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations and advise management on their impact on corporate strategies and operations.
Corporate Compliance Duties
- Manage corporate filings with relevant regulatory bodies (e.g., Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) or similar local governing body).
- Assist in drafting board resolutions, minutes of meetings, and maintaining statutory records and documentation.
- Ensure timely renewal of all company licenses, registrations, and necessary no-objection certificates (NOCs).
- Liaise with external auditors, company secretaries, and legal advisors on corporate and tax matters.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all corporate and tax-related activities for audit and compliance purposes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA or ACCA) is preferred.
- Experience: Proven work experience in a tax or corporate compliance role, preferably 3+ years in public accounting or a corporate tax department.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of income tax laws, corporate law, financial reporting standards, and compliance procedures in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with accounting software packages (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, JD Edwards) and tax preparation software is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
