Position Title: Tech Support Associate

Position Summary
Pacific Science Center’s mission is to ignite curiosity in every child and fuel a passion for discovery, experimentation, and critical thinking in all of us. We are seeking a tech-savvy, approachable problem-solver to join our IT team in a part-time role (approximately 20 hours per week). As a Tech Support Associate, you will provide basic technical support for computer systems, hardware, and software while assisting the IT team with day-to-day operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as a first point of contact for basic technical assistance with hardware, software, and phones.
- Assist with managing and troubleshooting our internal network
- Assist with installing and configuring hardware and software components.
- Help troubleshoot devices and systems under guidance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
- Support onboarding tasks such as preparing equipment and assisting with account setup.
- Other duties assigned to support IT operations.
Position Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge
- Basic familiarity with computers and common software applications.
Skills:- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
- Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical users.
Ability to:- Be customer service-oriented and approachable.
- Work independently and manage time effectively.
- Approach work with a demonstrated commitment to Inclusivity, Diversity, Equity, and Access.
Qualifications
- Some past IT-related schooling or experience required (e.g., coursework or training in areas such as cybersecurity, network administration, or helpdesk).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Availability for part-time or flexible schedule.
- Commitment to Inclusivity, Diversity, Equity, and Access.
- Interest in Technology or prior experience in a support role & willingness to learn.

Compensation
Pay is based on several factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and years of experience.
