JOB SUMMARY
The Technical Analyst II – Payroll/Benefits performs a variety of advanced technical and professional administrative functions in support of District payroll and human resources operations. Responsibilities include conducting complex data collection, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting; developing, maintaining, and providing training on payroll and HR systems; and ensuring compliance with applicable policies, regulations, and laws.
This position is responsible for supporting district-level payroll and HR processes and systems, including monthly time and attendance, payroll processing, tax and benefits remittance, and the preparation and reconciliation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. The role also assists with system maintenance, user access, and training related to HR, payroll, and benefits systems.
The Technical Analyst II: Payroll provides analysis and guidance to administration, management, and the School Board, and may require specialized education or certification in areas such as finance, human resources, data systems, or related administrative functions. The role primarily serves internal stakeholders, as well as external partners including government and regulatory agencies.
This position reports to the Director of Human Resources and Payroll. Experience with Time and Attendance systems, eFinance, payroll quarterly reporting, and PERS reporting preferred. bilingual candidates fluent in English and Spanish preferred. Please note that the salary listed below reflects the 2025/2026 classified salary schedule and may be subject to change pending contract negotiations.

SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment; performing assessment, accounting or payroll/HR procedures as applicable and/or; preparing and maintaining accurate records; using pertinent software applications specific to job/department.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform intermediate math, including calculations using fractions, percent, and/or ratios; understand written procedures, write routine documents, and speak clearly; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes: business telephone etiquette; computer and internet operations; and federal, state and local policies, procedures and practices specific to job/department.
ABILITY is required to schedule activities; gather and/or collate data; and use basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others; work with data utilizing defined and similar processes; and operate equipment using defined methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with similar types of data; and utilize specific, job-related equipment. In working with others, some problem solving may be required to identify issues and select action plans. Problem solving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited. Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
Experience
Pay: $26.50 - $31.09 per hour
