Technical Designer — Claire House Design (Kansas City)

Claire House Design is a luxury residential interior design studio in Kansas City specializing in high-end new construction and large-scale renovations. Our work is rooted in timeless architecture, natural materials, and thoughtful, modern-traditional spaces that feel as beautiful as they are livable.

We’re hiring a Technical Designer—someone who loves the precision of drawings, understands how construction actually unfolds, and brings steady follow-through to complex projects. This role is ideal for a person who finds deep satisfaction in clarity: accurate documentation, clean decision-making, and driving a project forward.

What You’ll Do

• Produce accurate buildable drawing sets including interior elevations, cabinetry/built-ins, details, and dimensions.
• Coordinate drawings with architectural plans—verifying openings, wall lengths, ceiling conditions, and real-world constraints.
• Help carry projects through construction by understanding the flow of decisions and anticipating what comes next.
• Support selections and sourcing with organized options, specs, and cut sheets.
• Collaborate with our team across design, project management, and procurement to keep projects moving smoothly.

You Might Be a Great Fit If You…

• Have experience creating technical drawings for residential interiors (new construction/renovation strongly preferred).
• Understand construction sequencing and what builders/trades need to execute well.
• Are detail-oriented to the point that accuracy feels personal.
• Catch problems before they become job-site problems.
• Enjoy systems, standards, and creating repeatable processes.
• Have a design-aware eye and can support selections/sourcing thoughtfully.

Tools + Skills

• Strong CAD skills required (professional documentation level).
• Comfort with specs/cut sheets and organizing technical information.
• Clear communication and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.

Location + Schedule

• Kansas City area
• In-person collaboration and site visits as needed (flexibility depends on the candidate and project demands).
• Open to full time and part time candidates
