China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC ME) is recruiting a Technical Engineer - Temporary Works & Scaffolding Design (Dubai Infrastructure Project)
with a strong focus on complex scaffolding solutions for civil and structural works.
The idea candidate will be responsible for designing, calculating, and approving safe, efficient, and cost-effective temporary works and scaffolding systems that comply with the highest international safety standards and Dubai's strict regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Design & Analysis:
Develop detailed design calculations, drawings, and methodologies for a wide range of temporary works, including but not limited to:

Complex Scaffolding:
Design for facade access, shoring, support structures, slip-forming, cantilever scaffolds, and material loading platforms.

Formwork & Falsework:
Design of support systems for concrete pours of significant volume and complexity.

Temporary Support Structures:
Design of propping, jacking, and stabilization systems for existing structures.

Earthworks Support:
Design of trench shoring and excavation support systems.

Software Proficiency:
Utilize industry-standard design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla,
STAAD.Pro
, or similar) to create accurate models and drawings.

Compliance & Standards:
Ensure all designs fully comply with relevant international codes (BS, Eurocodes), Dubai Municipality regulations, and company-specific Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) policies.

Documentation:
Prepare comprehensive design reports, risk assessments, method statements, and all necessary technical documentation for client and authority approval.

Site Liaison:
Work closely with the site construction team to understand requirements, conduct site surveys, and ensure designs are practical and implementable. Provide technical support during the erection and dismantling phases.

Propose innovative and cost-effective design solutions without compromising on safety or integrity.
Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

A minimum of
5+ years
of proven experience in temporary works design, with a significant portion dedicated to scaffolding design on large infrastructure or building projects.

In-depth knowledge of scaffolding systems
(e.g., Cuplok, Ringlock, Frame, HAKI) and their applications.

Profound understanding of structural mechanics and stability.

Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.

Must have experience working on projects in the UAE/GCC region, with a clear understanding of Dubai Municipality approval processes.

Excellent command of written and spoken English.

Chartered Engineer status or progressing towards chartership (IStructE, ICE, etc.).

Previous experience with bridge works, tunnelling, or other heavy civil infrastructure.
