Technical Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Manager with a strong background as a Senior Architect within the Interior Fit-Out industry to lead and oversee all technical design coordination from concept development through construction documentation and execution support.

This role bridges architectural design, interior detailing, and MEP coordination, ensuring all technical drawings, shop drawings, material selections, and design documentation are accurate, coordinated, code-compliant, and buildable. The Technical Manager will supervise the technical drafting team, ensure drawing quality standards, and act as the primary technical authority across all project stages.

The ideal candidate combines design intelligence with deep technical execution knowledge, particularly in interior architectural detailing, joinery coordination, and integrated MEP systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Architectural & Interior Technical Leadership

• Lead design development supports conceptualization through detailed design and construction documentation.
• Assist the Head of Interior Design in translating design with intent into coordinated architectural and interior technical drawings.
• Prepare and review detailed architectural, interior, and coordinated reflected ceiling plan (RCP) drawings.
• Produce and oversee detailed shop drawings including joinery, ceilings, partitions, finishes, and custom-built elements.
• Ensure full coordination between architectural, interior, and MEP design information.

Technical Coordination & Design Management

• Plan, review, monitor, and coordinate all technical design information with consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Interpret and validate architectural and MEP drawings to ensure alignment with interior design and construction requirements.
• Coordinate closely with MEP consultants to ensure services integration within ceilings, walls, and joinery elements.
• Resolve design discrepancies and provide technical solutions that maintain both design intent and constructability.

MEP & Joinery Detailing

• Oversee preparation of detailed MEP & Joinery shop drawings and furniture coordination drawings.
• Ensure proper integration of finishes, materials, hardware, and fixing methodologies within interior detailing packages.
• Support value engineering exercises related to materials, finishes, and construction techniques.

Documentation & Drawing Control

• Manage preparation of site surveys, measurement verifications, and as-built drawings (Architectural and MEP).
• Maintain structured documentation of CAD drawings and file management systems.
• Control drawing registers, revisions, and technical submissions to ensure accuracy and traceability.

Compliance & Technical Review

• Monitor compliance with local building regulations, authority requirements, and fire & life safety (FLS) standards.
• Review Architectural, MEP & Joinery shop drawings to ensure compliance with the original design and life safety coordination within interior spaces.
• Validate technical submittals and design changes to ensure they align with original design intent.

Team Leadership & Quality Assurance

• Supervise and guide CAD operators and technical draftsmen, distributing workload to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Review all technical drawings to ensure consistency, detailing accuracy, and adherence to company standards.
• Establish technical drawing standards and continuous improvement practices across projects.

Project Coordination & Execution Support

• Participate in technical meetings and coordination workshops with project teams and consultants.
• Provide technical clarification and support during construction stages.
• Review design implementation progress and ensure proper integration of all technical disciplines.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related technical discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Interior Fit-Out projects (mandatory)
• Proven experience working as a Senior Architect / Technical Architect on commercial, retail, hospitality, or high-end residential interiors
• Strong background in interior architectural detailing and joinery coordination
• Extensive experience in coordinating architectural and MEP services within interior environments
• GCC project experience preferred

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD 2D & 3D
• Strong knowledge of interior & MEP construction detailing, joinery drawings, and material coordination
• Ability to produce and review coordinated RCP drawings
• Understanding of FLS, Fire Alarm, and Firefighting coordination requirements
• Experience managing drawing file systems and CAD documentation standards
• Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Photoshop
• Strong working knowledge of XREF commands collaborative drafting environments

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: QAR10,000.00 - QAR20,000.00 per month
