Technical Procurement Engineer

We are looking for a Technical Procurement Engineer who will work in our company’s headquarters in Zincirlikuyu / İstanbul.

Engineers supporting the commercial and procurement side of the business including sector know-how, supplier research, supplier relations, order management, contract negotiations. In-depth understanding of excellent relationship management, team management and communication skills at all levels; uses this understanding to achieve own works.

Key responsibilities

• Procure all goods and services mainly under mechanical scope of turn-key power plant projects (engine, pumps, heat exchangers, boilers, separators, boosters, heat recovery systems, cooling systems, Fuel Supply & Treatment System etc.)
• Collecting offers from potential suppliers, coordinating with the related project/technical department for offer clarification,
• Analyzing offers commercially, order placement, contracting, eBA/Logo procurement operations,
• Expediting manufacturing process of suppliers, arranging audits/inspections with QA/QC for ongoing orders,
• Maintaining supplier relations, expanding supplier list, completing the approval process for new suppliers
• Following the project procurement schedule, reporting to management about procurement activities
• Effectively manage supplier relationships to optimize service, quality, and cost,
• Establish preferred long-term supplier selection criteria based on supplier evaluations of price, quality, delivery, certifications etc.
• Update of supplier scorecards and reporting of supplier spend, risk and opportunities,
• Work based on İltekno’ s procedures, standards and ethics,

Experience / Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in engineering,
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement processes,
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English,
• Knowledge with project and engineering procurement of goods and services ideally gained within a manufacturing, design and supply environment, such as steel fabrications, mechanical components, and electrical components,
• Industry experience in shipping, marine, energy, oil and gas, power, or manufacturing is preferred,
• Able to supervise, lead, plan and prioritize work,
• Able to review contract documents, evaluate potential areas of risk and develop,
• Able to research, analyze, and evaluate new methods and techniques,
• Analytical thinking skills, documentation, reporting,
• Strong negotiator, problem solver, result oriented,
