Technical Project Manager

Siemens Energy is on the lookout for a driven and skilled Technical Project Manager (Engineering) to join our Grid Solutions team in Istanbul. In this critical role, you will be at the forefront of our technical team, directly influencing the design and execution of high voltage substations.

You will be responsible during bidding and project execution phases for overall management of turnkey Primary / Secondary design packages for AIS / GIS Substation Projects for our utility / Industrial and renewable market segment customers. You will supervise our Project Mangers with the technical expertise you bring!

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Primary Design (develop 2D/3D layouts) for AIS and GIS substation projects, including electromechanical design, development of general arrangement, layout and sections drawings considering electrical and mechanical parameters of the project
• Review and direct external design offices for control/protection system design development as needed
• Perform calculations for cable ampacity, grounding, lightning and station auxiliary loads
• Review, approve, and create equipment specifications and detailed bills of materials for tenders and project execution
• Experience in solution design of Balance of Plant Engineering for Power Plant and Renewable Projects (Wind Parks preferably)
• Review customer specifications and supplier documentation to develop compliant solutions, attend meetings to influence technical compliance and competitiveness
• Ensure engineering deliverables meet the schedule dates, and inform the Project Manager of possible delays or risk
• Willing to travel locally and internationally for customer meetings and project sites
• Manage personal and team time, resources and budgets effectively
• Responsible for Engineering from the project development to completion/energization, supporting Tender management and Project management

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, with 8+ years of experience in Engineering Design for high voltage substations and the EPC market, including knowledge of Secondary Protection and Control Systems.
• Strong customer focus and adaptability to dynamic environments
• Ability to lead a small engineering team and provide direction for optimal performance
• Intercultural sensitivity, for effective collaboration in international teams
• Self-motivated with high energy, multitasking capabilities, and excellent organizational skills
• Familiar with the latest Transmission and Distribution standards and technologies
• Flexibility and willingness to travel and to be present on sites and with customers and 3rd parties both in Turkey and our international projects as per needs
• Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, Cymgrid and the cable dimensioning tools
• Excellent English language skills
