As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting our Federal contracting within the U.S. Government sector. Leveraging your engineering knowledge, you will act as a bridge between technical requirements and commercial solutions. Your primary focus will be analyzing government solicitations, ensuring our proposed engineered products and solutions are fully compliant with federal standards, and crafting persuasive, technically accurate proposals.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Requirements Interpretation: Analyze technical specifications and requirements found in Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and solicitations.
  • Product Expertise: Quickly gain a strong understanding of engineered product lines (e.g., specialized mechanical components, fluid control systems, electrical infrastructure, or chemical solutions) to match them to client needs. Align vendors after engagements on technical aspects.
  • Vendor Liaison: Coordinate with external product vendors and suppliers to gather technical data, compliance sheets, and certifications necessary to validate and include their products in federal proposals.
  • Compliance Review: Assist senior staff in verifying that all proposed product specifications and installation methods adhere to mandatory and/or required federal and industry standards (e.g., NFPA, OSHA, various MIL-Specs).
  • Data Organization: Maintain organized records of product specifications, compliance documentation, and technical certifications required for federal submissions.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience: 0–1 year of professional experience (internships and relevant academic projects will be considered).
  • Foundational Knowledge: Demonstrated strong foundational knowledge in the principles and concepts of the relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and professionally.
  • MS Office Proficiency: High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for document creation, data management, and presentations.
  • Adaptability: Proven ability to quickly learn new complex technical products, processes, and compliance requirements.
  • CRM Exposure (Plus): Previous exposure to or familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is a plus.
