Technician, Paediatrics and Child Health

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:
  • delivers planned care to all assigned patients with minimum supervision
  • perform routine unit specific procedures independently and assist in handing cardiac arrest situation
  • perform hands-off (bedside over) and carry out special assignments
  • demonstrates safe handing and proper use of equipment/supplies
  • participate actively in patient family education and provide safe environment for the patients by following infection control policies and applying safety measures for patients
  • demonstrates knowledge and skills in handling high-risk patients/services
  • utilize SBAR technique to notify patients’ condition
  • follows admission, transfer and discharge processes according to the hospital protocols
  • regulate and maintain I/V fluids and perform IV canulation after certification from NES
  • ensure maintenance of all equipment and maintain unit-based inventory items for medical equipment.

Requirements

You should have:
  • Intermediate in any discipline and Matriculation with Pre-medical background
  • completed Nursing Technician training course at AKUH or any other reputable organization
  • certification in Basic Life Support and Intravenous Cannulation (as applicable)
  • an ability to efficiently handle medical equipment
  • excellent interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills
  • ability to effectively follow oral and written instructions
  • resilience and ability to cope-up work pressure
  • willingness to work in shifts
  • comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.
